lazing trails to guide others through the rugged landscape industry, NALP Trailblazers provide unique, personalized expert guidance to their colleagues across the country. Nominated by their peers, these
elite landscape industry leaders have worked hard, learned from their experiences and now want to share a lifetime of knowledge for the benefit of the industry.
ALP recently announced its newest Trailblazers and honored them at NALP’s LANDSCAPES Awards Dinner
in Louisville, Ky., on Oct. 20. This lifetime honor is given for excellence and achievement in the areas of lawn care, design/build/installation, interior plantscaping, irrigation & water management and landscape management. Each Trailblazer sets aside one day per year to provide
on-site mentoring to a NALP member, providing insight and advice on how to develop and grow that member’s business. Trailblazers also participate in the Trailblazers on Call program that provides members with quick an- swers to their business questions.
THE NEW TRAILBLAZERS • Neil Bales, Vice President Lawns of Dallas, Inc., Dallas, Texas With more than 12 years in the business, Neil Bales oversees all management per- sonnel, manages the company’s financial operations, strengthens all vendor rela- tionships, and is proud to be responsible for overseeing the company culture. He is active in NALP leadership and the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association and volunteers considerable time in his church and community.
• Glenn Bonick, Owner Bonick Landscaping, Inc., Irving, Texas Bonick Landscaping is in its 34th year of operation with a staff of 65, and owner Glenn Bonick has performed all func- tions within the company and considers himself the company’s head cheerlead- er. He has long been active in Texas landscape associations, won numerous awards and is responsible for bringing the Certified Technician Exam to the state.
• James Cali, Principal McFarlin Stanford, Dallas, Texas Jim Cali has spent 10 years in the land- scape industry as a chief operating offer and consultant, and he also has years of sales and marketing experience at Fortune 500 companies. He has won a variety of national and state awards, is active on NALP committees and is currently the chair- man of the NALP-PAC.
