AUTOMOBILI LAMBORGHINI CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF MIURA AT THE CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE AT GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED2016

ONJUNE 27THAMIURASV RESTORED BY LAMBORGHINI POLO Storico was awarded ‘overall winner’ in the Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’Elegance at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016, in the year that Automobili Lamborghini celebrates the Miura’s 50th an- niversary. This Miura, chassis #4846 is the original Miura SV shown at the 1971 Geneva motor show, and the subject of a full restoration by Lamborghini’s specialist restoration center, Polo Storico. Enrico Maffeo, head of Lamborghini Polo Storico, received the prize from Laurent Feniou, managing director of Cartier UK. The nine-strong judging panel included Lapo Elkann; Flavio Man- zoni, Ferrari’s vice president of design; Sir Jonathan Ive, Apple’s chief design officer; and designer Marc Newson. “We are very proud that the first full restoration by Lamborgh- ini Polo Storico collects this award from the Cartier Style et Luxe concours event,” said Stefano Domenicali, Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. “Goodwood Festival of Speed is an event that celebrates the passion that so many have for all things automotive, both past and present, and Lamborghini is proud to be a part of this.”

Automobili Lamborghini also presented the Aventador Miura Homage, a special edition of the current Aventador coupe that pays tribute to the Miura, the forerunner of all V12 Lamborghini super sports cars in its 50th anniversary year. Only 50 units of the model will be produced, the majority of which have already been sold, available in selected markets worldwide. Goodwood’s Lord March took the wheel of a Huracán Spyder, alongside Stefano Domenicali, in the Michelin Supercar Run, in which a Huracán Avio also went ‘up the hill.’ On its stand Auto- mobili Lamborghini displayed the Aventador Miura Homage, a limited edition of 50 units produced to celebrate the Miura’s 50th anniversary, together with a Huracán Super Trofeo, Huracán Spy- der and the special edition Huracán Avio. Also on display in the Cartier Style et Luxe was a Lamborghini class celebrating designer Marcello Gandini’s ‘Raging Bulls,’ which included an Espada, Countach, Jarama, Silhouette, and Diablo.
