Meet Your New Board Members
Jeff Curwen, CAE
As we look ahead to a productive year for our profession here in Washington, we’re excited to introduce several dedicated individuals who will now be guiding the WSCA as board members. These elections and appointments reflect a commitment to strong practice advocacy, regional representation, and a philosophically diverse board for our state’s chiropractic community.
Dr. Eddie Hansen, DC — President-Elect
Dr. Eddie Hansen of Bellingham has been elected President-Elect. His clinic, Natural Way Chiropractic, has numerous locations throughout the I-5 corridor and is one of the biggest chiropractic businesses in the state. As President-Elect, Dr. Hansen is embarking on a three-year commitment to lead the association’s strategic direction, member engagement efforts and professional advocacy. His experience in running a regional practice network gives him a practical lens on the challenges and opportunities facing chiropractors statewide, as his clinic serves a range of communities and demographics.
Dr. Karm Virk, DC — District 9 Representative
Serving as District 9 Representative is Dr. Karm Virk of Tukwila. His hands-on experience in an urban/commuter environment offers a crucial perspective to WSCA’s board — particularly when addressing issues like insurance, industrial claims and practice workflows in high-volume settings. District 9 has one of the largest distributions of chiropractors in the state, so Dr. Virk will have a lot of voices to represent.
Dr. Kelly Golob, DC — District 10 Representative
Dr. Kelly Golob of Tumwater steps into the role of District 10 Representative for WSCA. Based in Thurston County, Dr. Golob has served his local region with a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient education. In his representative role, he will be tasked with ensuring that the unique needs and perspectives of practitioners in the south Puget Sound area are brought to the association’s decision-making table.
Dr. Kimberly Palmer-Yee, DC — Legislative Director
Finally, we welcome former WSCA president, Dr. Kimberly Palmer-Yee of Federal Way, back to the board as she takes on the role of Legislative Director. Dr. Palmer-Yee has been shadowing Dr. Dave Butters for the last two years in preparation for stepping into the position he has held since it was created. In her legislative role, she will spearhead the WSCA board’s engagement with state policymakers, regulatory issues and advocacy campaigns. Working closely with WSCA Executive of Legislation and Policy, Lori Grassi, she will be the primary subject matter expert relating chiropractic to those stakeholders in Olympia.
WSCA members, please join us in welcoming Drs. Hansen, Virk, Golob and Palmer-Yee to their respective roles. Their dedication to our profession will help advance the chiropractic cause in Washington in meaningful and practical ways.
