EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Jeff Curwen, CAE WSCA Executive Director

As we look ahead to another productive year for the chiropractic profession in Washington State, I want to take a moment to reaffirm the value of your membership in the Washington State Chiropractic Association and highlight the benefits designed to support you, your practice, and the patients you serve.

First and foremost, your membership ensures that chiropractic has a strong, unified voice in Olympia. The WSCA’s legislative and regulatory advocacy remains one of our most important functions. Every session brings new challenges—scope-of-practice issues, insurance reform, and public health policy among them—and our advocacy team is on the ground every day protecting your ability to practice and ensuring chiropractic care remains accessible to all Washingtonians. Your membership makes this work possible.

We also continue to expand our professional development opportunities. From live conferences and regional trainings to on-demand continuing education, the WSCA offers high-quality, relevant CE that meets state requirements while helping you stay ahead of clinical, technological, and business trends. Members receive significant discounts on these programs, making it easier and more affordable to stay current.

Your membership also gives you access to our robust practice- support resources. Whether you’re navigating insurance issues, coding updates, L&I procedures, or new regulatory requirements, our staff is here to provide timely, accurate assistance.

We’re also committed to fostering community and professional connection.

Through regional district meetings, committee involvement, networking events, and statewide gatherings, you have opportunities to learn from colleagues, share best practices, and strengthen the future of your profession. The WSCA thrives because of the engagement and expertise of members like you.

Additionally, membership provides exclusive discounts on essential business services—from malpractice insurance to digital tools and patient-education resources—helping you reduce overhead and operate more efficiently. Check out page 14 for more information about our latest member-only benefits for health, disability, and life insurance. The savings you can realize from these benefits more than pays for your membership, and that doesn’t even touch on the value of any of our other various benefits.

Finally, I want to emphasize that the WSCA is here for you personally as much as professionally. Whether you’re a new doctor establishing your first practice, an experienced practitioner adapting to industry changes, or a clinic owner supporting a team, we are committed to helping you succeed at every stage of your career.

So, if you know a DC who isn’t a member yet, tell them to apply at www.chirohealth.org/join and list you as their reference. They’ll get a discount on their first annual dues payment and you’ll get $50 off your next dues invoice. And if you’re in a large practice and interested in group membership, contact us at wsca@chirohealth. org to get more information.
