CELEBRATING 65 YEARS IN BUSINESS
This family owned, landscape management company was founded in 1951 by Clarence Davids Sr. This full service landscape company is headquartered in Matteson, Illinois, with branch offices in Plainfield and Ingelside. Clarence Davids & Company is a full service contractor including: maintenance, design build, installation, lawn care, snow removal, tree pruning and removal, seasonal flower display and Holiday décor to the Chicagoland Area.
“We owe our longevity to our customers” states company president and son of the founder, Bill Davids. “We strive to establish partnerships with our clients by providing prompt, quality landscape services at fair competitive pricing.” We service high end residential, multi-family, industrial, commercial and institutional properties. “People know us for the quality of our work” continues Davids, “customers hire us because we do what we say we are going to do and we stand behind our work.”
Davids also emphasizes the importance of his talented and loyal employees as a key to staying in business for 65 years. The account representatives have an average of 25 years of experience with degrees in ornamental horticulture or landscape architecture. Our design team consists of an experienced and creative staff including state registered landscape architects and degreed designers.
The majority of our crew foremen have over 20 years of field experience with several over 30 years. Our 2016 anniversaries include 4 foremen celebrating 30 years, 3 celebrating 35 years and one of our veteran maintenance foremen has achieved 45 years with the company.
With each passing year, Clarence Davids & Company continues to strive to make the company better. We strive to keep our staff up to date with training and continued education. We also are proud of the direction the company continues to move in with environmental consciousness and sustainability. All of our vehicles and equipment run
on biodiesel. Our professional mowing equipment helps us recycle grass clippings back into our lawns and as much as possible, work with local farmers to compost excess organic debris. New landscapes that we design and install lean on plant material that requires minimal maintenance and water requirements. We are even purchasing and using electric equipment to minimize noise and air pollution.
Our lawn, tree and shrub care programs consist of a variety of environmentally friendly products. We offer 100% organic fertilizer programs as well as organic based programs. We use products that can be applied at lower rates and that have low odors compared to some of the more traditional products. Clarence Davids & Company also practices integrated pest management which means to emphasize on acceptable pest levels and not eradication using a variety of practices such as monitoring, establishing economic injury levels, mechanical and biological controls.
Over the past 65 years, Clarence Davids & Company has won over 200 awards on State and National levels for excellence in landscape design and maintenance. In 2015 we were presented 4 of the top awards on the Magnificent Mile Association(MMA) Curb Appeal Contest. We were also presented with First Place for the Winter/Holiday Display for the MMA. In another very important category, we received two Gold and one Silver Overall Safety Achievement Awards by the National Association of Landscape Professionals represents over 100,000 landscape professionals and the award recognizes those companies who demonstrate thorough, high performing safety programs that create and maintain safe work environments in the green industry. These awards recognize the time and resources we expend in providing a safe work place for employees, our customers and the general public. “We are proud of these achievements and with the longevity of our company,” says Davids, “and we look forward to continuing to provide beautiful, sustainable landscapes to our customers well into the future.”
