Hussar said that the project’s diverse scope of work has made it both interesting and uniquely challenging. “Tis project includes a fairly wide


cross section of heavy civil scope,” Hussar noted. “Tat includes roadway expansion, structure demolition, different types of retaining walls (cast-in-place gravity and shotcrete soil nail), different types of bridges (voided slab and box girder), sound walls, and concrete flatwork.”


Meeting Challenges Through Planning and Partnership Te team has focused on solutions that reduce the impact to the public wherever possible during construction, Hussar added. “The bridge demolition, which we completed in March 2024, was a unique challenge, especially done over an arterial highway.
