Three varsity letters, three all-conference and academic all- state honors in three sports over all three years! Redcay is poised to make it four for four this school year. sports, the three-sport high school athlete is rare. Kaylee is not only competing in three sports, she’s making an impact in all three. Playing softball in the fall, wrestling in the winter and track in the spring. She enjoys every season. “The joy of softball, to me, is my team. There is so much chemistry between us and we all laugh together as well as win together. The joy of wrestling is putting in such brutal hours of practice and hard work, and seeing it reward you on the mat when you win. started two years ago and had some success as well.” That success includes a school record throw of 36.76 meters. Kaylee came into high school as a talented hurdler, but a calf injury her freshman year led her to the javelin. With a strong arm javelin came naturally.
The will to compete also comes naturally in the Redcay family. “I have never participated in any competition, whether it be a board game or a wrestling match, that I don’t want to win,” Kaylee says. “I make myself want to be a better athlete. I want to feel like I have proven my full potential, and that’s what keeps me wanting to get better every day.”
