This is what ginger looks like in the grocery store. You can

as you think you need. During checkout, the piece is weighed and adds up to very little cost. Once home, I keep ginger on my counter so that it is always visible and ready to be used. Here are three ways that ginger is used.

Many chefs use a spoon to scrap off the peel, which is very thin, but you can also use a peeler if you desire.
