SEC ND STAR By Vicki Marsh S
o, here it is, March 2026. If you made New Year’s resolutions, how many are still being worked on? If you started reading your Bible for the year, are you still on track? If you talked about cleaning out your closets (in the new year) and giving things to a charity, have you done it? If you planned to start a new diet or exercise program, are you doing that? Believe me, I am the Queen of Procrastination, and I can only answer yes to two of the questions above. But I know that it is never too late to start again! Do you have any goals for the year? May I suggest some that I hope to achieve this year?
I plan to have less clutter this year: After I moved to Greenville from Gastonia six years ago, my daughter and I have
recently moved to a house in Greer, SC. (If your city name does not start with a G, I will probably never move there.) While I thought that I had gotten rid of a lot of “stuff” when I moved to Greenville, I still had two storage units of “stuff” from Gastonia to move into the new house in Greer. (Miracle Hill and Goodwill have been frequent recipients of “stuff” since we have moved).
Once all is examined, I plan to only keep what I really need! I plan to give more encouragement and recognition to others who are a great example to me of how to serve others:
In ARP Women’s Ministry, there are several ways to recognize people who are quietly doing so much to serve our Lord and others.
Women’s Ministry). A Love Gift (honors someone at church like a nursery worker or Sunday school teacher, etc.) And In addition, Women’s Ministries presents the Julia Hardeman Rhodes award to someone who has given long-standing down to Women’s Ministries, Click on Julia Hardeman Rhodes. Scroll down to the end and click for the form. Nomina- tions should be submitted by May 31st and sent to Vicki Marsh at
vcmarsh1414@gmail.com. I plan to read through my circle lesson at least once before the lesson each month (Learning to Love the Psalms by W. Robert Godfrey): While it is always my intention to do this, I sometimes put it off until the morning of the circle and then do not have enough time (Queen of Procrastination needs to plan better!) I plan to encourage more women to get more involved in ARP Women’s Ministry: There are so many ways to serve in
ARP Women’s Ministry and you get so much more out of something when you get more involved. I hope that this has given you some ideas and by writing these down, I am more committed to accomplishing my goals. While I did not make any New Year’s resolutions this year, there is still time to start that exercise program! I wish you success in YOUR Second Start goals this year!!
