ASSOCIATION • Association BUZZ From the Desk of the President Greg Chiecko, OABA President O

ur manufacturers and suppliers are a critical part of the OABA membership. Many are trusted colleagues that we have built relationships with over the years.

Some are newcomers to the industry that provide us with in- novative and contemporary offerings to enhance our business. Regardless of the relationship, our M&S partners work hand in hand with us to make our industry the best that it can be. Our M&S understand our industry and how crucial their

service affects our bottom line. Many are dedicated, not only to their business, but also to the betterment of our industry. We have M&S members on our board of directors that provide us with their viewpoint on the indus- try challenges we face. They help us through ad- vocacy of our Guest Worker CARE and RIDE Acts in Washington, DC. Anytime we have a special pro- gram that needs support, our M&S members are always there. Our M&S partners support us financially. Through

our Partners Program, a group of companies pay a fee in ad- dition to their membership. OABA provides them with extra exposure to their business and acknowledges their extra fi- nancial contributions. Many participate in our TopGolf Guest Worker Advocacy fundraiser in Tampa each year. This forum not only allows them to contribute but also to socialize and mix with our members. Many participate in our auctions and raffles, and we truly appreciate their support. Our M&S Committee, under the leadership of Mark Steele,

is very active in developing more ways they can provide value to our members through increased participation in education

and safety training. Be on the lookout for valuable programs that will be launched in the coming months. We will continue to hold our Fall board meeting in conjunc-

tion with the IAFE convention, which will be held in Denver this year. This aligns us with our fair partners and our M&S members. We will have our OABA cocktail hour on Sunday, November 30th. If you have not made your hotel reservations yet, please do so as soon as possible. You can use this link to access the OABA block:  . On another note, I would like to provide you with

an update on Guest Worker Advocacy activities in Washington, DC. While we are working on having our language in the Appropriations bill for home- land security we must push on by obtaining as many co-sponsors as possible for our Authorization bills. Our new bills for the 119th Congress are HR2729 CARE Act and S1281 RIDE Act. If your member of

Congress has signed on to these in the past, please contact them again to sign on. You can find all the resources you need at  or scan the QR Code in this article. We are working very closely with our partners at the IAFE to have fairs participate in the process to obtain as many co-sponsors as possible. We will be having another DC Fly-in late in October and more information will be available soon. I will be traveling the rest of the season to see as many of you as possible. Stay safe.

Sincerely, Greg Chiecko
