wouldliketostart offbyTHANKINGall of the Manufacturers and Suppliers that service our great Industry that are and have been members of the
OABA. The businesses and people from those companies help our Association accomplish our goals. It is vital for the Outdoor Amusement Business Association to retain and gain more of these stakeholders as members. Currently ScottSiefker,Showmen
Supplies, is our Third Vice Chairperson and Wade Muller, OA Finance, is our Treasurer. Also, Mark Steele, Craftsmen Industries, and Reilly Berk, Berk Enterprises, sit on the OABA’s Board of Directors as well. It goes to show our membership how much our Manufacturers and Suppliers can get engaged and help the greater good for all of us when they dig deep into our issues.
ON MANUFACTURERS AND SUPPLIERS AS OABA MEMBERS
Communication is Key Having our Manufacturers and Suppliers as members is
not necessarily about monetary gain. A membership for a Manufacturer or Supplier is ONLY $250 a YEAR. Having these companies as members is important for communi- cating what is going on within our Industry. It is im- portant for them to know about the trends, the issues and their customers’ (the OABA membership) needs to serve us better.
As we have continuedtomoveforward with the CARE Act (HR 2729) in the House of Representatives and the RIDE Act (S1281) in the Senate, manufacturers and suppliers in their home bases have become examples of powerful allies for our cause. Their “brick and mortar” businesses help give pol-
iticians and their teams tangible examples of how far our Industry reaches.
Bring MORE Manufacturers and Suppliers UNDER OUR TENT This season is coming to a close shortly for some who are

reading this as this is published, and some of us are getting ready to wrap up within the next month. Some carnivals might even have a couple months left. No matter where we are in our season, it’s about the time most people start making decisions on small and large purchases for the fu- ture. When we do so, it’s easy to help ourselves in the pro- cess. Try to help those who help us and support our Trade Association. If we do business with a company that we are not sure is a member of the OABA or not, it’s easy to ask:
1. Is your company an OABA Member?
2. Will your company become a Member of the OABA?
If the answer is “NO,” it is not a big deal, but most the
time many other colleagues and I find the answer is an easy “YES.”
