Success Marks the Conclusion of NAARSO’s 37th Annual Safety Seminar





(NAARSO) recently concluded its annual safety seminar, leaving the over 450 in-person and virtual attendees equipped with valuable insights, new connections, and innovative strategies on amusement ride safety. Held January 28th through February 2nd, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, the event brought together professionals from across industries for days of in-class learning, hands-on training, discussions, and networking opportunities.


The in-class sessions took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton


at SeaWorld Orlando while hands-on training occurred at Fun Spot America Kissimmee, SeaWorld Orlando, and Aquatica Orlando. Attendees gathered bright and early each day for enriching content from 8am to 6pm. The seminar received support from generous sponsors committed to advancing knowledge and fostering growth within the industry. Sponsors included Outdoor Amusement Business Association, who provided scholarships for attendees to join the seminar. Attendees were treated to a diverse range of topics covering


the latest trends, emerging challenges, and innovative solutions within the industry from an impressive lineup of presenters. Sessions spanned areas such as Water Quality, Water


Attractions Inspections, ASTM, Amusement Ride and Device Inspections, Documentation and Signage, OSHA, Accessibility, and Ride Evacuations, providing attendees with a comprehensive overview of key issues shaping the industry. In addition to  Aquatic Operations, Crane Tech LLC was onsite to provide   Safety Training. At the conclusion of the seminar, the organization recognized members for their service, dedication, and devotion to the organization from the past year. This year’s recipients were  Person of the Year, John Dodson for the Walter C. Dills award, Ed LaSalle for the Red Wood Safety Award, Jeff Alberts for the Jimmy Floyd award, John Riggleman for the Jack Silar Award, and Ty Vanderstappen for the President’s Award. NAARSO looks ahead to the 38th annual safety seminar in 2025, which was announced to be in Charlotte, North Carolina.
