ith Ol’ Man Winter knocking at our door, many American touring circuses are closing out their 2025 season this month. At the same time, a
handful of holiday-themed circuses are just now hitting the road covering every nook and cranny in the country, playing cities large and small in more than two-thirds of the contig- uous states. UniverSoul Circus’ Rhythm of the World opened Coney
Island (NY) in mid-November and will close its 2025 season December 7. Garden Bros. Circus has only two engage- ments before ending its 2025 season: West Palm Beach (FL) December 4–14 and North Port (FL) December 18–21. Venardos Circus’ Decade of Dreams opens the month in Escondido (CA)
followed by stops in Goodyear (AZ)
December 11–21 and Las Vegas (NV) December 26 thru early January. Far Beyond plays Savannah (GA) December 4–14 and St. Augustine (FL) December 18 thru the end of the month. Cirque du Soleil’s only domestically traveling circus in
November is ECHO playing now San Francisco (CA) and into early 2026. However, you can still catch one of Cirque’s Las Vegas-based shows: KÀ at MGM Grand; “O” at Bellagio; Mystère at Treasure Island; and Mad Apple at New York, New York. Cirque is also getting into the circus Christmas game with four units of ‘Twas the Night Before . . . playing late November in West Palm Beach (FL), Milwaukee (WI), Minneapolis (MN), and Boston (MA). Then the four units move into Salt Lake City (UT), Chicago (IL), Buffalo (NY) and Phoenix (AZ). Circus Bella of Oakland (CA) will present
its annual
Big Top Show — Starlight — in a special 27-performance engagement under its 350-seat canvas at the Crossing at East Cut near the intersection of Beale and Howard streets in Downtown San Francisco (CA) December 12 thru January 4. Beautiful circus artistry will be accompanied by Circs Bella’s six-piece All-Star Band, whose circus tunes can now be heard on Spotify and Apple Music! Zoppé Family Circus winds up its seasonal tour in California, play- ing Monterey December 5–8 and Santa Maria December 12–15. Also in California, Flynn Street Circus will close out its season December 18 thru January 4 in Capitola. Big Apple Circus plays Damrosch Park at Lincoln
Center in New York City (NY) throughout the holiday sea- son presenting daily shows from Tuesday/Wednesday through Friday with two shows a day on the weekends. BAC will also present two shows a day from Christmas
Day thru December 28. Vazquez Circus will be appearing in Queens (NY) while its sister unit FL!P is playing across town in Brooklyn (NY). Both circuses will close out their re- spective 2025 seasons on December 14. Bindlestiff Family Circus hosts its monthly Open Stage Variety Show at the Voorhees Theatre in Brooklyn (NY) December 9. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey recently released
its 2026 itinerary for the 148th Edition of The Greatest Show on Earth, promising “jaw-dropping moments, world- class performances and incredible sights . . . powered by a pop music playlist packed with today’s biggest hits and original tracks.” TGSOE will debut in Tampa January 2 fol- lowed by visits to Miami, Jacksonville, and Sunrise. Two units of Cirque Musica embark on incredibly aggres- sive itineraries. The first unit hits the road December 11 in Ottumwa (IA) while the second unit opens December 19 in Evansville (IN). Then it is a month of back-to-back, one- day appearances that blanket the nation, covering 54 cit- ies in 26 states stretching from Washington to Florida, Iowa to Texas, and Massachusetts to New Mexico.
