investors who are attending these events are humans who are making investment decisions based on their own fundamental research, experience and sound judgement,” he explains. “Investors are looking for companies with a mul- tidimensional approach to AI – companies that look at their business strategy and determine whether AI will enable that strategy,” Hayes suggests. He adds that many CEOs want to adopt genera- tive AI in 2024 in some way in their business, but it will be critical to be able to describe how the techni- cal infrastructure and coding structure enable the monetization efforts as well as the talent strategy. “It will be critical for deep business, technology and


AI expertise to inform that narrative or it will fall flat with investors and damage the company’s credibility,” Hayes says. “Given the complexity of the space, topline understanding of messaging has real downside potential.” “AI is fantastic. I use it every day to analyze reports and find and summarize key points, it’s a huge time- saver,” Marcus says. “Te challenge is using a public model as you cannot load non-public material.” He believes there’s certainly a role for AI in Investor Day but warns, be careful about the data that you load. “It’s early days with regard to AI and Investor Days


so it’s difficult to ascertain what the full impact is likely to be,” Nordwall explains. “Tat said, one can see that AI is likely to play a role in the sourcing, sorting and gathering of the data in the short to medium term.” Nordwall says she can also see the possibility of using AI to enhance a virtual experience of a com- pany’s remote operations.
