hosted another in-person event in May titled “Leadership, Influence, and Innovation: Transforming the Role of IROs.” Tis luncheon was designed to examine how IR professionals can expand their influence within their organizations as the role evolves into one of greater strategic importance. Tis session provided attendees with valuable insights into
how IR professionals can shape corporate strategy and take on a more advisory role within the C-suite. Attendees left with a greater understanding of how to align their IR activities with broader business objectives. While these programs set the stage for the year, the highlight of 2024 was a full-day NIRI DFW IR Summit in August. Te event drew a full house, filling the room to capacity. Te energy in the room was palpable, as IR professionals, panelists, and moderators came together to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the investor relations profession today. Te summit opened with a keynote address from Karen David-
Green, an accomplished C-level executive and independent board director. Her talk, “What Defines a Great IR from the C-Suite and Board’s Perspective,” provided an invaluable viewpoint on how investor relations is viewed from the highest levels of corporate leadership. Te insights from David-Green helped set the tone for a day
that would focus on the strategic transformation required in inves- tor relations, particularly given the macroeconomic challenges and ongoing uncertainty that IR professionals face. Tis theme
