the president’s message H
appy Fall Season! By the time you are
reading this, school has started, December year-end budget season is in full swing and our landscape business partners are busy trimming all the trees while our roofing contractors are cleaning rain gutters and making sure the roofs are leak proof.
Whew! Meanwhile, back at the chapter office...
Before we look too far forward, I’d like to take a moment and catch you up to speed as to what we aredoing as an organization:
UPCOMING EVENTS Annual Election for our Board of Directors will be held on October 10, 2017 Community Leadership Training Program kicks-off on October 4, 2017 2018 Marketing Plan releases on October 5, 2017 Community Manager Breakfast is scheduled on October 10, 2017 California Legal Forum is scheduled on October 20, 2017
OVERALL CHAPTER BUSINESS 2018 Budget has been approved by the Board of Directors 2018 Planning Retreat has been scheduled and the focus is on our future leadership
CLAC contribution continues to be on track and we will meet our goal by year end
PR Committee continues to publish our events and news to social media and new journal outlets
While we are nearing the end of the 3rd Quarter, there are still a few Chapter goals to accomplish. And then of course, planning for 2018! I know the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is close, but before we all get into the holiday mindset, remember to take some time out for yourself. Why? Because you need to and more importantly, because you deserve it.
I was recently told by a longtime friend that I was always seen as a “ball of light” and that my smile and belly laughter always made their day. I was very flattered by the compliment and the memory and it made me reflect on my life journey on how many people I affected in that same way. What do you do, unbeknownst to you, that has a positive influence on another person? It’s amazing how we can impact others by just being our self.
I look forward to seeing all of you in the next several months and I hope that you are all doing well! As a throwback when we wrote in each other’s yearbooks and I’m going to modify it
slightly...KIT and have a bitchin’ Fall season!
