MDA PHOTO CONTEST TRAVEL & PLACE

THE TRAVEL & PLACE CATEGORY CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR, WITH 23 ENTRIES. The category includes pictures that express the adventures of travel … a sense of place, something unique to a travel experience. Dr. Graham took this at Cinque Terre, Italy, in the village of Manarola in June 2014. She says travel is one of her passions when time allows, and she has especially enjoyed exploring New Zealand and Honduras. As for travel tips, she says, “Seek local hideouts, spend time in less touristy towns and with people who call the area home. This means seeing the tourist hot-spots is not always at the top of the list … sometimes the adventure is found in the quiet, small town just next to the tourist spot.” For more than 20 years, her father, Dr. Richard Graham, has been an oral surgeon in Jefferson City, where she plans to return after her residency program.
