Dr. Bond says this combination seemed like a natural fit: a digital adaptation of the beginning of a “blood” moon, taken in Kirkwood, with a photo of a wolf, taken at Yellowstone National Park in the Lamar Valley.

RUNNER UP SUPERIOR REFLECTIONS

This digital adaptation is a combination of two photos Dr. Anderson took of son and his girlfriend. The combination was accomplished using Photoshop which allowed the reflection in the water to be switched. The photos were taken at Artist’s Point overlooking Lake Superior in Grand Marais, Minn.

TIP: ALWAYS USE A TRIPOD AND SET YOUR CAMERA ON APERTURE PRIORITY WHEN SHOOTING NATURE SHOTS. YOU CAN ADJUST YOUR DEPTH OF FIELD WITH THE F-STOP AND LET THE CAMERA ADJUST FOR EXPOSURE. BUCKET LIST: STILL LOOKING FOR THAT BIG BULL MOOSE IN THE WILD.
