gram, and the clinic’s large scale requires many volunteers. However there’s Give Kids a Smile, Special Olympics, and many other local events that are very worthy and need volunteers. And many of you provide services and care after hours and in ways that we never hear about. Just keep it up. Involve your whole office as a great team builder. Volunteering will remind you why you love dentistry and it will connect you to colleagues.

CELEBRATE 150 YEARS: 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the
MDA. All year long there will be special moments to pause and reflect on our history. Organizations don’t last that long without some measure of stability and value. Have pride in where your profession has come from and where it is going. The more you know about the MDA, the more you appreciate what membership means. You can watch for a chance to buy a copy of our commemorative book toward the end of the year. So, raise a toast and take time to celebrate the strength of your association as we charge ahead with our mission to help all members succeed.
Like me and my gym challenge, these sug- gestions are only as good as the action we put into them. And just like a gym, it may feel clumsy or new or self-conscious at first to try these. But just like a gym, you will see results when you start to move. Here’s to better health and maximized member- ship value! f
