Rising Star Awards


The Rising Star Award recognizes those individuals that serve on a CAI committee and have consistently made positive contributions. These individuals have between 1 and 5 years of experience on the committee and exhibit leadership potential. Nominees have made a significant contribution to the committee(s) for which they serve, have set themselves apart from other volunteers by regularly attending CAI programs / events throughout the year, and have potential to take on a greater leadership role within CAI in the future. CAI is pleased to recognize the following Rising Stars in 2021:


Outstanding Homeowner Leader Awards


The Outstanding Homeowner Leader Award recognizes homeowner leaders who demonstrate outstanding contributions to CAI, the associations they serve, and to their surrounding communities. These individuals are committed to, and clearly understand their role and fiduciary responsibility as community volunteers. CAI is pleased to recognize the following Outstanding Homeowner Leaders in 2021:


KEVIN BORGARD, DCAL—Kevin has served on his Board of Directors for over 6 years for a 1300-plus unit association. Kevin makes sure to thoroughly understand the governing documents and every association issue. He proactively educates himself so he can make informed recommendations and decisions. Kevin has attended all CAI Illinois DCAL classes and earned his DCAL recognition in 2017. Kevin is professional and always goes above and beyond for his association.


ROBERT SCHULMAN—Robert has served on the Board of Directors in varying roles for over 6 years. He actively educates himself by attending CAI events and Associa continuing education. He acts in the best interest of his association, even during an emergency repair situation during the pandemic. He is reliable to assist in all association matters and never hesitates to help the community.
