responsible for costs related to the installation and use of an electric vehicle charging station that was intended only for that unit owner’s personal use. Such costs included, but were not limited to, installation, insurance, and use of electricity.
ILAC is happy to report that it was successful in amending HB3125 with language it drafted to address its concerns. Although the bill ultimately did not pass both the House and Senate, the time and effort of ILAC, through its lobbyist and dedicated volunteer members, was not in vain. ILAC established a seat at the table and built relationships with legislators and stakeholders. That work will only help ILAC address issues, if any, when a new bill is introduced in a future legislative session.
Like the global warming zeitgeist of our time, electric vehicles are a current powering the direction of legislation in Illinois. Electric vehicle related policies are our current future and ILAC is ready to charge forward in addressing any issues that impact Illinois community associations. Until the next legislative session, head out and enjoy some golf, and don’t forget to ask for an electric golf cart.
