Call To Action In response to the call to action,
AGC created the DEI Task Force. Its first order of business: to craft an official statement about AGC’s position on DEI. Te AGC State Board of Directors unanimously adopted that statement in October 2020. Included within the Task Force report, this statement has served as the “North Star” guiding the efforts of the Task Force over the past year. Now picking up where the Task
Force left off is the newly formed AGC DEI Steering Committee, which will be comprised of a diverse coalition of AGC members of all sizes and types, including past members of the original DEI Task Force, members of AGC’s current Small Business Council, and external experts. “A lot of work went into casting
vision for the future of our industry — being more inclusive and promoting a deeper sense of belonging,” said Montgomery, who along with Anderson chose to continue her involvement as a member of the new Steering Committee. “Now it’s really the task of the Steering Committee to execute on that vision. We put our boots on and get ready to dig in, start to take that vision and build it out. As constructors, that’s what we’re good at.” AGC hopes to engage an even
