AGC Mourns Loss of Glenn M. Gelman AGC of California and the industry
lost a major friend and supporter with the sudden death of Glenn Gelman, Glenn M. Gelman & Associates, on August 29, 2014. Gelman, 60, died after being involved
in a motorcycle accident in northern Ari- zona while on a cross-country tour from Mexico to Canada. Named AGC of California’s Associate
Achievement Award winner for 2014, Gel- man served the California construction industry for more than 30 years and the AGC for over two decades. He founded his Santa Ana-based firm, Glenn M. Gelman & Associates, in 1983. Since then, it grew to include 40 professionals dedicated to serving the needs of large and small con- tractors by providing a variety of business- related services. Gelman was an active member of the
AGC since 1990, and his dedication and commitment as an associate member were widely respected. He donated his time and knowledge at regional and national con- ferences and participated in local district board meetings as an educator and guest speaker. Throughout the years, he also lent significant financial support to AGC help- ing with events and sponsorships. In January of 2012, Gelman became the
first and only construction CPA to serve on the AGC Legal Advisory Committee. His participation in the AGC was widespread and long-lasting, including serving as an AGC board member in 1992, participating on the Fall Conference Committee from 2004-2008, serving on the Legal Advisory Committee for the last three years and as a national and state speaker various times over the years. leaves behind his wife, Paula, his
children,
Rebecca, Leora, Elana, and An- thony, and his parents, Irving and Rochelle. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the “Glenn M. Gelman Me- morial Fund” at the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County, 1 Federa- tion Way, Irvine, CA 92603. Donations are being distributed to various charities that Gelman supported.
