Save The Date
amily Bible Conference 2020 promises to be a time of refreshment, deep fellowship, and faithful growth in God’s Word. One of the common struggles that we face in life on this side of eternity is that it can be a real challenge to ap- ourselves asking the question, “Why should I care about this and how do I apply it to my life as a servant of Christ?” This is a question that we hope you do not have when you head home from Family Bible Conference. The goals of the speakers and the topics are to be both clear and practical. Dr. Mark Ross from Erskine Theological Seminary will be leading us through an examination of the book of Acts. Dr. Jonny Gibson from Westminster Theological Seminary will be bringing four talks on 2 Peter. We have a number of excellent seminar speakers preparing to teach on areas such as The Means of Grace, Family Wor- ship, Evangelism, and more. And of course, there will be ample time for resting in the joy of God’s presence and his saints. This year we will be meeting at Bonclarken from July 27-30th. As the numbers of youth and children have ris- en sharply, we ask that you submit your youth and children registrations by July 1st to secure a spot. Those registering on or before May 1st will receive a $10 dis- count on adult weekly registration. If you’ve never been to Family Bible

rs. Lewis W. McDaniel (Marie Wylie) who was the oldest member and Treasurer of Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Blackstock, SC died at the age of 97 on August 14, 24, 1941 and joined Hopewell Church on September 7, 1941 by letter of transfer from Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church.
M Mrs. McDaniel was the 10th child of 11 children born to James Alexander and Lula Lucretia McGar-
ity Wylie. Lewis and Marie were blessed with one daughter, Judith Ann (Judy) McDaniel Sterling. Marie was very active in the life of Hopewell Church as a Sabbath School teacher, choir member, working with the annual VBS, active in all phases of the Women of the Church, and wherever there was a need. Mrs. McDaniel became Church Treasurer at the death of Lewis in January of 1978. Mrs. McDaniel was a homemaker and carried out the normal duties to include gardening, sewing, cooking, canning and freezing vegetables, knitting and crocheting, and raising beef cattle. In addition, she kept many children within the community while mothers worked making her a “second mom” to many. She was also a true prayer warrior. Her motto for life was LET ME LIVE BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND BE A FRIEND TO MAN. We give thanks to Almighty God for this loyal servant of Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyte- rian Church. – The Session, Hopewell ARP Church, Blackstock, SC 29014
