CALL TO PRAYER At Synod 2018, Alex Pettett, WW Executive Director, challenged ARP delegates to join World Witness in praying for a new generation of missionaries to be 


This prayer challenge, called 2-2-20, denotes asking the Lord that He would raise up and help us identify 2 potential missionaries in each church by the year 2020 – hence 2-2-20.


With gratitude and praise to God, we have, to date, collected 40 names of potential missionaries! We hope your heart rejoices with ours in this wonderful answer to prayer and in what God will yet do, as we continue to pray.


PRAYER RESPONSES Last year, Alex and I made phone calls to ARP pastors, encouraging them in their endeavors, praying for them, and hearing their input regarding the 2-2-20 prayer initiative. The vast number of responses were encouraging and positive. Many expressed a desire to be involved and agreed to have their church listed on our website, in support of this call to prayer. Here is a sampling of their responses:


“My church is very supportive of missions (even though there are only about 25 members on roll and in attendance). We support several missionaries and just gave a large gift  Pakistan. As a result of your phone call, I  prayer initiative.”

“I have been praying for this initiative in my pastoral prayers on Sunday mornings at least monthly. In addition, I have made  keep it in front of our people.”


“I pray for 2-2-20 often, also in our  building the foundation of leadership  done before. Three of my elders are very missions-minded.”

We have developed resources to help pastors, elders, mission leaders, parents or potential candidates engage in this prayer initiative. They are found on our website: worldwitness.org. In addition, we have prepared various tools that we would be willing to share with your church or missions committee, toward supporting and enhancing your missions program. We would love to visit with you.


Perhaps the name of someone from your church will soon be added to our current list of 40 potential missionaries.  hearts and doors, for the glory of God.

We are now working on the next phase which is


to be called “GO 2.” More details will be forthcoming as we transition from the 2-2-20 prayer initiative. We are excited!
