Sherwood’s Story BY RON BEARD


One warm April day, Sherwood overheard his Mom and Dad talking about enjoying the springtime because it always reminded them of God’s love. Sherwood told them, “I know that church celebrates Easter in the spring and that Easter is all about God’s love.”


But then he said, “I’m not sure why spring reminds you of God’s love.”


His dad thought for a moment and then asked Sherwood several questions. “Do you notice that the trees have begun to put on new leaves?” “Yes”, said Sherwood.


 “Can you hear all the birds singing in the trees?” “Yes”, said Sherwood again. “Are you enjoying the warmer weather now?”


Dad asked. Sherwood laughed and replied, “Oh yes, yes and I really enjoy that the sun stays out longer too!”


His mom said, “Sherwood, all of these things remind us that God created the world around us for us to enjoy. We know that God did it because He loves us.” Sherwood


said, “Is it sort of like Easter when we celebrate that God loves us because of Jesus and
