Answered Prayers BY RON BEARD

One evening sitting around a table Sherwood asked his family about how God

speaks to you. Mom pointed out that God speaks to you in the Bible. Sherwood said “I know that mom, but how about answers to my prayers. When I pray God doesn’t send me notes, or call me on my phone, send me a text or e-mail. How does He let me know? His dad told him that God doesn’t answer us in the ways that people use. He agreed with mom, yes, you always start with the Bible but remember, you have to be familiar  that’s His answer to my prayers and questions. It’s important to read and study the Bible. We don’t just suddenly know enough about God’s Word to get answers. You need to read and learn about it. They all agreed that you can often see answers to prayers by looking around to see God at work. You see the answers to prayers by seeing God work out what you prayed for. 

can’t see where God answered your prayers. “What”, he said, “about the prayers that are not answered?” Dad asked, “Sherwood do I always buy you what you want? Do I always let you go

places you want to go? Do I always smile and say do whatever you want to?” Sherwood admitted that no, he was not always allowed to get or do everything he

wanted. Dad said, “No, we don’t allow some things for a very good reason. Sometimes we know better than you do the things that aren’t good for you, or may hurt you. We say ‘no’ because we love you. God is like that about our prayers. He knows what is best for us and sometimes that means saying “no” to us. Our prayers are always answered. When God says “no” it’s always because He loves us and knows what is best for us.”
