Abstract submissions now open for SIR 2021

IR 2020 was certainly an adventure. The Annual Meeting Committee worked hard to plan an incredible meeting for us all
in Seattle—and then worked even harder to transition those plans and content to an online conference. And that hard work paid off.
SIR 2020 VIRTUAL was a success, highlighting the scientific and educational programming that fuels SIR’s annual meetings. Members were able to come together across the globe to view 2 days of high- quality presentations, as well as earn CME and SA-CME credits through
educational sessions—all online. From the PAD-CLI bootcamp to cutting- edge immuno-oncology concepts, discussions of PAE and women's health, our faculty provided engaging, informative and often entertaining virtual programming. It was an honor to work with the rest of the Annual Meeting Committee, other volunteers and staff to respond to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and ensure that our members wouldn’t have to miss out on connections and education.
Working on SIR 2020 was an unparalleled experience, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to
channel the lessons I’ve learned into planning SIR 2021 in Nashville, Tenn. (March 20–25). As we begin working to produce next year’s meeting, we will look to the success of this year’s virtual programming and study the lessons it offered in accessibility and adaptability. The future of meetings has changed, and SIR is excited to be on the leading edge, exploring what that future will look like.
I’m looking forward to another year of great science, workshops and programming, and I’m eager to see what SIR 2021 will bring!
