There has been a lot of exciting breeding of the native plants that so many landscape architects like. Look for compact versions of Cephalanthus, Aronia and Physocarpus.

Compact plants allow landscapers to use familiar genera in new ways. Suddenly a plant that had only been used as a specimen can be planted en masse or even in a container garden. Would you have thought that a Hydrangea panicu- lata could be kept in a deco pot? It’s got the cold hardiness, but older varieties get way too big. New dwarf varieties

mean your clients can enjoy their hydrangea container garden for many years without replanting. Ask your nursery grower what new compact varieties they will be offering this season. You will likely find new dwarf forms of familiar favorites. You know the originals; the smaller versions provide the same form and function

RELENTLESS ADVOCACY

REPRESENTING THE VOICE OF OUR INDUSTRY

LEGISLATIVE DAY ON THE HILL Join us in Washington, D.C., July 10–12 for our annual legislative conference, and make personal visits to Capitol Hill. You CAN make a difference for your company and for the industry. Our team is powerful, but it can’t do it alone. Legislators listen to business owners. It is important that you write, call and visit your legislators both in your home district and in the nation’s capital.

RENEWAL & REMEMBRANCE During your visit to Washington, D.C., help us to honor America’s veterans and leaders during our nationally recognized day of service. Peers from

across the country volunteer their people, skills and equipment to enhance Arlington National Cemetery.

Save the dates for these events. Find out more at landscapeprofessionals.org
