The Association for Play Therapy proudly invites play therapy professionals from around the globe to unite in celebrating International Play Therapy Week, taking place February 2-8, 2025! This week is dedicated to raising awareness of the healing and transformative power of play, spotlighting the important work of play therapy, and honoring the commitment and expertise of our play therapists and credentialed registrants who make an invaluable difference.
Throughout this special week, we encourage everyone—whether you are a play therapy professional, student, or advocate—to engage actively. Share your experiences, educate others, and spread the word about the profound impact of play therapy.
By participating, you’ll contribute to a more connected and supportive play therapy community and help elevate public understanding of this essential field. Let’s come together to celebrate, inspire, and foster growth in the world of play therapy!
Help Spread the Word! Here are a few ideas to celebrate International Play Therapy Week:
• Present a workshop on play therapy. • Share FREE “Why Play Therapy?” brochures from the APT Store – available in English, Spanish, and French!
• Share the Foundation for Play Therapy’s “Why Play Therapy?” pediatrician brochure with medical professionals and the “Why Play Therapy?” counseling brochure with school professionals.
• Arrange for a colleague or yourself to be interviewed to highlight play therapy. • Invite a news station to an event celebrating International Play Therapy Week. • Highlight your activities on social media by using #playtherapyweek2025 • Share photos/videos of play therapy week celebrations from your community.
