People are social and want to be social but, in this time, socialization has been limited, which set the stage for additional phone time as well as increases in various means of computer communication. Technology is something property managers are typically versed in, but occasionally some homeowners are not as savvy and this has become a challenge for those who want to participate in a person-to-person experience. In order to assist in this arena, it may be necessary to post announcements, send correspondences and field additional calls. It is crucial we recognize the importance of the in-person communication, so one does not lose the human aspect. While it is apparent technology will become stronger and more reliant over the next few years for community associations, it is important to balance this with in- person events.
It is apparent that the industry will continue to work towards additional avenues and fine-tune the systems to continue our path in a world during – and after – a pandemic. In 2021 we will be even stronger and more resilient for the lessons we learned and hurdles we overcame in 2020… we will emerge better, more efficient and more ingenious.
