In March, the board of directors voted to close the association’s fitness center, hospitality room and sundeck. Every month, the board evaluated the current conditions and was instrumental in a phased opening with limitations. The association gradually opened the barbecue area in June, and the sundeck and swimming pool on July 1st with capacity restrictions. At the time this article was written, the fitness center and hospitality room remained closed.
Safety measures put in place at this condominium association did not go unnoticed. According to the Alderman’s office of the 46th Ward, the practices put in place at this community were cited as examples for other residential buildings, and their precautionary
measures were published on the Alderman’s website. Today, this property continues with its sanitizing routine and maintains an advanced level of safety.
Dealing with the current pandemic has been a difficult task for all. Property managers are faced with praise and criticism, but having a responsive board of directors and a supportive management company makes the situation bearable, as they strive to create a safe environment for all.
