GIVES BACK
SUCCESSFUL USED TOY DRIVE BENEFITING HOME OF THE SPARROW

The CAI-IL Community Relations committee is proud to share the success of CAI-Illinois’ first-ever Used Toy Drive, benefiting Home of the Sparrow—an organization dedicated to empowering women and children as they journey from homelessness to self- sufficiency.
Thanks to the generosity of the CAI-IL community, the toy drive was a tremendous success. On January 16th, Community Relations committee members delivered three carloads of gently used toys, which will be distributed to families served by the organization or sold through its thrift stores to help support programs and services.
During our visit to Home of the Sparrow, we learned that the organization began in 1987 as a homeless shelter and continues to operate a shelter while also providing transitional housing and affordable rental housing. Notably, 93% of those served are survivors of domestic violence. Home of the Sparrow is funded through a variety of sources, including sales from its seven thrift stores.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated toys and supported this meaningful effort— your generosity made a real and tangible impact. Special thanks to committee members, Michelle Scott of All American Exterior Solutions and Jennifer Ranieri, CMCA, AMS, PCAM – Vista Property Management, for their assistance with collecting and delivering donations.
CAI-IL is grateful for the opportunity to support organizations like Home of the Sparrow and looks forward to continuing to serve our community through future outreach efforts. Together, we are making a difference—one act of kindness at a time.
