LEGISLATIVE ACTION COMMITTEE LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
FROM THE ILLINOIS LEGISLATIVE ACTION COMMITTEE (IL LAC) – Here is a brief update on what we’re seeing early in Illinois’ 2026 legislative session.
The IL LAC is CAI’s official voice with legislators and regulators with a mission to advance, defend, and strengthen public policy for the community association housing model. The IL LAC is facing a busy legislative session in Springfield – session began on January 14, and the IL LAC is already monitoring early activity at the Capitol potentially impacting community associations. In addition, the IL LAC has drafted and introduced reserve study legislation, a priority initiative of CAI Headquarters. Here are a few highlights at this time:
