CAI-Illinois Service Day 2025 in partnership with Feed My Starving Children:
A Day of Impact and Community Spirit
By LAURA TURNER, FirstService Residential CAI-Illinois Community Relations Committee Community Association Manager, CMCA, CAM
On June 13, 2025, an inspiring spirit of service and unity came to life as over 300 volunteers gathered for Service Day 2025, hosted in partnership with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). The event was held on the same day as International Community Association Managers Day, a remarkable example of how compassion, collaboration, and dedication can create tangible global impact—one meal at a time.
This year’s turnout far exceeded expectations, with an incredible cross-section of our community coming together. Volunteers included CAI team members, Community Association Managers, family members, including children—and numerous business partners who play essential roles in supporting our properties throughout the year. Their shared goal? To give back in a meaningful way by helping provide life-saving nutrition to children in need across the globe.
A Powerful Collaboration
The CAI-IL Team along with the CAI-IL Community Relations Committee and our partner Feed My Starving Children was proud to serve not only as an organizer but also as an active participant in this powerful day of service. CAI is an organization deeply committed to community, and it was especially significant that the event aligned with International Community Association Managers Day—a day that highlights the vital, often behind- the-scenes work performed by community managers. These professionals ensure that our communities run smoothly, safely, and efficiently every day. Hosting Service Day on this occasion served as both a celebration of their contributions and a call to extend our efforts beyond our immediate communities.
