What sort of communications have you, as the Hand, put in place so that, while the owners do not have direct contact with the Throne, they feel that the King understands their needs and is addressing them to the best of their
abilities? You talk to owners every day…what is their general attitude towards the board? What is the board’s attitude
towards the owners? If it offers any comfort, my Lords and Ladies, rest assured all Kings and Queens have sat
upon their throne at one time or another, listening to the requests and complaints from their loyal subjects and thought to themselves “Why dost thou pain and grieve me with such trivial matters? Doesn’t thou know that I have a kingdom to run? Go! Leave us! And trouble me no more with thy petty squabbles!” Yet, for the good of the Realm, the manager, as Hand of the King, understands that all good people have a right to, and therefore shall, be heard:
“ If it pleases your Grace, Sir Thompson of House Unit 3E has repeatedly encroached upon my land by allowing his fowl beast to defecate in my garden! What dost thou propose to do about it?”
“ If it pleases your Grace, Lady Jones of House Unit 4B continues to serve as most gracious host to a gaggle of fools whose merriment and consumption of ale hath not only spilled upon the sacred grounds of the common, but the noise and disruption oft carries on for a fortnight, and is enough to wake the white walkers!”
“ If it pleases your Grace, winter is coming, and yet the royal shrubberies continue to grow so high and wild that it shames me. And I have guests arriving on the morrow. I have tried to appeal to the royal groundskeepers, but they pretend to only speak Valerian, your Grace, whilst I am certain that they know the King’s English! I shall stake the good name of my house on it!”
