TAKING THE PULSE AI Adoption in Investor Relations
The use of artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to significantly change the practice of Investor Relations. AI is already having an impact, from how we communicate with investors to how our companies are valued by the financial community. Investor relations professionals will need to adapt to a rapidly changing environment as the use of AI gains wider adoption. In this NIRI Pulse Poll survey conducted in March 2024, IR professionals were asked about the use of AI
in their investor relations programs. The 72 anonymous responses spanned many industries and market caps. Respondents were comprised of a IR professionals from a majority of small- to mid-cap companies (70.8%), followed by large- and mega-cap companies (19.5%), and micro-cap companies (9.7%). IR
TYPES OF AI USE FOR IR TEAMS
44% of respondents have implemented AI use in their investor relations program.
92% of respondents are concerned about uploading MNPI to an AI tool.
41% of respondents’ companies have an AI policy. Of those policies:
• 80% do not allow upload of confidential or proprietary company information.
• 37% require AI content to be reviewed by a human. • 20% require disclosure of AI-generated content. • 17% do not allow any use of AI.
