that will last a lifetime. Not pictured, we held tutorials for D1 and D2 stu- dents in their preclinical courses and held a fundraiser by selling beautiful tackle boxes so students can carry their lab supplies around in style.

he fall semester was as exciting as the spring for the Beta Mu


chapter Zips at Southern Illinois University! Te semester kicked off with our rush luncheon and party event. Our theme this year was Xi “Sci-Fi,” a space themed, out of this world experience. Te events went off without a glitch and we happily welcome 17 new members into our chapter. We continued our semester with our annual fall golf scramble— ZIP OPEN; thanks to Drs Dickey and Fischer for grilling the hamburgers and hot dogs. It was a great way to get all new members involved and excited about the comradery of our group. Next up was our canned food drive to benefit the Cougar Pantry at

We gained recognition throughout our school community by hosting a successful membership drive at our school’s club fair, where our table won first place for our creative photo backdrop, fruit infused water, and


passionate recruitment speeches. We look forward to another semester of successful events and a continued increase of ZIPS involvement within our school and the overall New York community!
