BETA CHAPTER New York University New York, New York Founded 1893

T

his semester, the ZIPS Beta Chapter at the NYU College of

Dentistry has upheld our values of service, leadership, and especially friendship through a variety of social events, academic events, and volun- teer opportunities. In addition, we have designed and produced t-shirts (pictured) to increase awareness of ZIPS and our impeccable sense of fashion! We continued our tradition of community service through volun- teering in Queens, NY to provide free dental screenings and vouchers for exams and cleanings to underserved populations. In addition, our mem- bers volunteered at the NYU College of Dentistry Saturday Academy, which is an opportunity for under- represented high school students to gain experience in health care fields and receive help on their college applications. We also helped our own school community by hosting a D2 success panel to help our colleagues get through one of the most chal- lenging years of dental school. Not to mention, we held social events including outdoor potluck gatherings and a paintball night to further bond with each other and create memories

Members of Beta Chapter held a D2 success panel to help out their fellow NYU classmates with their coursework.

Members (left to right) Christian Pons, Elizabeth Maas, Katherine Yiu, Micaela Ruppert- Majer, Julia Kohler, Erica Simanovsky, Dillon Caines, Alex McIlhatten, and Vladyslava Bobko volunteered at NYU College of Dentistry’s Saturday Academy.

Members of Beta Chapter gathered with members of the NYU Dental community for an outdoors get together with delicious treats, pizza, and sushi rolls made by member Elizabeth Maas.
