President’s Message
Hello Chapter Members! What a year we’ve had so far! I’m sad to say this is my last President’s Message. I’ve been honored to lead the Chapter this year as we’ve
seen a lot of changes. I’m so happy we had many of our events in person this year and things are feeling a little more “normal.”
We just came off of a very successful CA Day! What fun it was to see so many of our members taking classes and visiting our Business Partners. Our “Through the Decades” theme just made it even more fun! We saw the decorations and people dressed up from the Roaring 20’s, 50’s (I was a Pink Lady), 70’s, 80’s, 90's and I’m sure I’m missing some. What a great way to spend a Saturday!
Upcoming Events and 2023 President
We have another exciting event coming up on November 4th, our Awards Gala and Annual Meeting. It’s a great reason to dress up and see your fellow members. The theme is “Paint the Town Red!” I’ve already picked out my red dress. This is also a time to celebrate our Chapter’s volunteers and leaders. We had so many great candidates for Board Member of the Year, Manager of the Year, Business Partner of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and more! I hope you can make it and honor all those that were nominated and help celebrate the award recipients. Please register on our website.
The last event of the year will be the Chapter Luncheon, which will be held on December 1st at the Marriott in Redmond Town Center at 11:30. We will have a fantastic speaker and comedian, as well as our annual Toys for Tots Drive. I really hope you can make it. If you can’t join us, please consider donating to the Holiday Toy Drive from our website through the Amazon Wishlist that has been set up.
I hope you will find some time in the next year to get involved. We always need people on our committees, coming to our events, writing articles, teaching, and attending classes. You are all valuable in this big club we are in together. We all want the best for our associations and those who support them. This group is the driving force to propel our industry to the highest standards. The more people we have involved, the better we can be!

I’ve been so lucky to serve on the Board of Directors this year (and the past 6) with some wonderful people who care so much about our Chapter. Andrea Goodmansen will be stepping up as President next month to lead us in 2023. She will be a fantastic leader!
Thank You, Michelle, For An Amazing 22 Years!
The best part of being President this year was working closely with our Executive Director, Michelle Leary on almost a daily basis. As you may have heard by now, this is her last year with us. It’s hard to put into words how much I appreciate and respect her and am proud to call her my friend. She is one of the hardest working people I know. She has worked countless hours, all for the good of this Chapter. She attends every committee meeting, takes all the calls, does all or our financials, edits all the articles and submissions, handles everything with our membership, manages all of the daily operations of the Chapter, and so much more, for the past 22 years with class and grace. She has helped us grow to the third largest chapter in the country. We have been so fortunate that we had her for as long as we have. For most of us, we don’t know WSCAI without her at the helm. Though I’m sad to see her go, I’m excited for new opportunities she has in her future. Like she says, “Change is Good.”
I want to thank you for the wonderful opportunity I had to lead this Chapter. It was such a fun and rewarding experience. I look forward to seeing you at future WSCAI events.
