Michael Brandt, Esq. has served on the WSCAI Board of Directors and currently serves on the Legislative
Action Committee. Michael is the principal of Brandt Law Group, a Seattle law firm that provides legal services to condominium and homeowner associations, their officers, directors, and members, as well as to the owners of single family residential properties and commercial properties. Michael has been practicing real estate law
for 25 years and lives in Snoqualmie, where he is a member of the Snoqualmie Ridge HOA. He is co-author of “Your Trees are Not Necessarily Yours to Control” along with Molly Mueller.
Ann Hart, CMCA, AMS is an energetic real estate management professional; Ann has been engaged in the
community association and real estate industry for the past 14 years. In addition to Community Association Management, she has experience working with a variety of populations, building styles and associations. Ann works with a comprehensive and solution-oriented management team at CWD Group, Inc., AAMC where the
team atmosphere and combined years of experience and resources allows CWD Group, Inc., AAMC to provide their clients with a depth of resources and association management experience. She is co-author of “Take Control and Stop Spending Money!” in this issue.
Cathy Lemon is the Office Manager at Morris Management, Inc. AAMC.
She has almost 40
years of administrative experience of which the last 13 have been dealing with the administrative tasks required to successfully organize the management of condominium and homeowners associations. “Management Transitions Made Easy-er.”
Cathy contributes the article Chanel Merritt
is the Communications & Events Coordinator for the Redmond Ridge Residential Owners Association (RRROA) in Redmond Washington. She manages all communication and marketing for the RRROA, including management of the monthly newsletter, weekly email bulletins, and community website. Chanel also manages advertising accounts for the monthly newsletter, coordinates community events, fills escrow
requests and performs various other tasks for the RRROA. Chanel brings us the Community Spotlight on Redmond Ridge in this issue.
Molly Mueller has dedicated over 17 years of her career working in the community association
industry. She has experience working in community association management and has been a litigation paralegal at Brandt Law Group for over 15 years, assisting its attorneys in the representation of not only community association clients, but also the individual homeowners and residents of community associations. Molly
also works in tandem with the attorneys at Brandt Law Group on the transactional association work conducted by Brandt Law Group, which includes condominium creations, condominium conversions, and governing document preparation and amendment. She teams up with Michael Brandt to discuss challenges with trees in their article.
Doug Sage contributes the “Sub-metering” article in this issue. Doug is the managing principal
at GSG Group, Inc. a Seattle area construction management firm which specializes in guiding HOAs throughout the northwest during capital repairs and improvements. Doug taught construction project management at the University of Washington for ten years, has been a Board of Director at his condominium resort and sits on its
Architectural Review Committee.
David Silver, Esq. is an Associate Attorney at Barker Martin, P.S. Dave’s practice focuses on advising
condominium and homeowner associations regarding all aspects of governance, assisting associations with their day-to-day interactions with third parties, and interpreting, amending and enforcing CC&Rs. An avid golfer, Dave spends as much of his spare time as possible on the links. In this issue, he gives pointers on condo insurance.
Theresa Torgesen, Esq. is a Partner at Sound Legal Partners, PLLC and an experienced attorney who has
dedicated most of her career to representing condominium and homeowner associations as general counsel. She supports association managers and board members in their community leadership roles, assists them in identifying and addressing potential risks, and collaborates with them to develop practical solutions
when problems arise. Theresa is passionate about education and advocacy and is an active volunteer for WSCAI. She is a frequent presenter of educational seminars and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the CAI Washington State Legislative Action Committee (LAC).
Mark C. Weaver, MBA has conducted and taught contract negotiations for over 25 years in multiple
industries. As the Director of Strategic Operations for Cable Contract Negotiation Group, LLC aka CCNG, Mark helps Homeowner Associations and other Multi-Dwelling Building Owners throughout the United States in understanding, and when necessary negotiating, details of “Right of Entry” and “Access” agreements so as to ensure
owners obtain their needs out of these agreements. Mark has held real estate license (Agent, Designated Broker, Managing Broker) since the mid 1990s and earned an MBA from Northwest Nazarene University. He discusses cable company and telecom access agreements in this issue.
