Coming Soon! New Research Resource
Supporting the Next Generation of Play Therapists
In early 2023, APT launched the Play Forward: Mentoring for Play Therapists program. This program was proposed by Leadership Academy students with the goal of guiding new play therapists and strengthening the play therapy community. Due to the success of the 2023 class, APT will continue its mentorship program.
In an effort to support clinicians, the Research Committee has been working diligently on a new members-only resource. In January 2024 the APT website will feature a Research page that includes summaries of several International Journal of Play Therapy® articles. Summaries include takeaways for clinicians, primary issues/needs addressed, play therapy theoretical orientation/ Committee, chaired by Yi-Ju Cheng, PhD, LPC, NCC, RPT.
The mentorship program is an excellent opportunity for members who are looking to connect with a seasoned play therapist or for those with experience to guide the next generation of play therapists. Interested applicants must of APT. Space is limited to 80 individuals (40 pairs) for the 2024 program. More details and application will be shared via PlayToday.
