STEVE MILAM, CPA/PFS, is an avid spokesman for the accounting profession and has spent much of his career advocating through CPA image enhancement initiatives, offering his full support for Oklahoma CPAs and their clients. “I have been a CPA in Oklahoma for 43 years and have found that this profession is full of honor and integrity,” Milam said. Milam, a principal and shareholder at Milam & Associates,

PLLC, in Tulsa, has used his distinguished voice in more than 50 media interviews with KJRH, Fox23, KTUL, Tulsa World and the Daily Oklahoman, primarily covering a variety of tax topics. He also shares his perspective and professional expertise by

presenting on tax and financial topics with various organizations: Te OSCPA and its Tulsa Chapter, Tulsa Estate Planning Forum, Oklahoma Bar Association, National Petroleum Energy Credit Association, St. John Medical Center Foundation and Oklahoma Council for Economic Education to name a few. When he is not speaking for and about the profession, he is putting his thoughts to paper via article contributions for statewide publications – including CPAFOCUS. “CPAs are very willing to help each other with an unmatched camaraderie,” Milam said. “Perhaps this is why I feel so compelled to help other CPAs and to help promote our profession.” Milam takes his dedication to the profession one step further by

volunteering a great deal of his time mentoring students and new CPAs. From OSCPA student events to university meetings and high school initiatives, Milam has helped many navigate their careers. Like many OSCPA Pathfinders, this Tulsa CPA’s Society
