On a cool afternoon on May 31st the fi rst CAI-OC Scavenger Hunt was held at the Irvine Spectrum. This event was put on by the Social Committee.
About 100 members of the Chapter, including 15 teams made up of managers, business partners, and homeowner leaders gathered at Umami Burger to get instructions on how the hunt would proceed. All participants were led in stretching-type exercises so there would be no injuries along the way. After some networking, the group found that even following the instructions of a simple game of Simon Says was a diffi cult task.

The teams, clad in various colored bandanas, descended on all parts of the Spectrum to complete silly tasks, including taking photos in all types of poses and answering trivia and questions about CAI. The unsuspecting mall shoppers, tourists, employees, and even mall cops (Bard was MIA) were asked to get involved. Antics such as tug of war with strangers, marriage proposals, dressing in crazy outfi ts in stores, and playing leapfrog occurred.
The teams all returned to Umami Burger for happy hour and an awards ceremony. First place went to the small but mighty team from 24HRC who received the coveted gold medals and bragging rights. Second place went to The HOA Pros Podcast, and third place went to the team from ProTec Building Services. This event was a lot of fun. Make sure to join us next year.
