President’s Message The Value of a Thank You
Angie Adams, CMCA, AMS, PCAM Pacifi c Coast Management, Inc. Chapter President
First, let me say “thank you” for being part of this wonderful industry. It is amazing what we can learn from each other. We have had some new speakers this year at our luncheons discussing topics that are newsworthy and timely. It is great to see our members fl ourish within their profession and share their knowledge.
The year has started out challenging, with many natural disasters in California. The workload for each of us has been demanding and stressful. It is wonderful to have a group of business partners that we can count on and trust during these times. With their guidance and expertise to help navigate insurance, fl ooding, fi nances and other issues, the fi xes have been a little easier.
And to the managers, please know that what you do is vital to the industry. Your guidance in making sure the associations you work with are properly armed with professionals to keep those associations in good shape and fi nancial health is essential. Often, it must feel like the job you are doing goes unnoticed. IT IS NOT. Juggling is an art. We care and appreciate what you do!
We appreciate the job our homeowner leaders are doing. We know they have diffi cult decisions to make during these trying times and it is wonderful to see new faces at our luncheons, taking advantage of the educational opportunities offered. I like to think an informed board is a happy board!
Speaking of education, the Education Committee has been busy this year. We are excited to announce our educational program for homeowner leaders is now called “HOA U.” If you are not familiar with our curriculum, we offer a four-night series classes that consist of: Law, Finance and Reserves, Insurance, and Maintenance/Contracts. We had a great turnout in March, so if you missed it please stay tuned for upcoming dates. We hope to see you there. The Education Committee also works with the Orange County Realtors association and provides a 3-hour course specifi cally geared to realtors to help them understand the HOA world. If you know any realtors who might be interested, CAI is offering courses in June and November. Contact the Chapter offi ce for more information.
We hope to see you at one of our luncheons or social events. . If you would like to become more involved with our Chapter, we are always looking for new committee members. We have so many to choose from that you can fi nd one that fi ts your needs.
In these trying times when everyone is moving faster than the speed of light, please take a moment to say “thank you” to someone who has helped you out in some way. Those two powerful words can make the darkest day bright. Every one of us deserves to feel validated for their contributions to this great industry.
Please reach out to me if you have any ideas, inspirations, or comments on topics you want to learn about. I guarantee, I will say THANK YOU!
See you soon!
Congratulations to our Newest Designees! CMCA
