Comedy Night for CLAC 

SPECIAL THANKS TO THESE SPONSORS:

Headliner Sponsors

On March 30, the CAI-Orange County Legislative Support Committee (LSC) held its second annual Comedy Night for CLAC at the Irvine Improv. This new event was popular with the chapter membership in 2022, and the committee moved the event to a “fi fth Thursday” to maximize attendance opportunities.

The comedians delivered a rowdy performance of prepared material and audience interaction, which capped an evening of socializing and networking with industry professionals over dinner and drinks.

Chapter President Angie Adams and LSC Co-Chair Dave Potter kicked off the evening, welcoming everyone and bringing the audience’s focus to the stage, while taking a moment to talk about the benefi t of the California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC) — the only chapter business permitted before the evening’s festivities got into full swing.

The opening comedian warmed everyone up for headliner Adam Ray (who also appears in “Young Rock”). Adam took the stage for a nearly hour-long set that probably made a few attendees question their decision to sit so close to the stage. Both performers posed for pictures with Chapter members afterwards and thanked all those who participated (willingly or unwillingly) in the show.

The event was attended by nearly 200 people – double the attendance of last year’s inaugural event — and raised approximately $10,000 for CLAC, making it one of the most successful fundraisers the chapter has held for the organization.

The event — hopefully a new tradition for the Chapter — was a success because of the support from all sponsors, the CAI Chapter staff and the volunteers on the Legislative Support Committee.
