WINNING ENTRY { COLOR } PEGGY’S COVE by Dr. Jay Hodge, Kansas City


THE “COLOR” CATEGORY HAD 11 ENTRIES. The category images show outstanding use of color, including array of shades, vibrancy and depth/saturation. Dr. Hodge (General Practice, UMKC 76) took this image on a trip to Nova Scotia in September 2021. “Canada had just opened its borders, and we were amped up to get out of town,” he said. “This image was close to a lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, which


is just down the road from Halifax. Everything was there for the composition, all I had to do was record it.” About his photography Dr. Hodge says, “I have entered art shows my church holds annually. Other than that, I have print and canvas images hanging around the house. I have enjoyed taking photos all my life—most of them not very good—but they bring back the moment, which makes them special.”
