As I mentioned earlier, October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Take this month as an opportunity to strengthen the security measures you may already have in place or to implement security strategies in areas where you are currently lacking. Protect your practice by protecting your patient files and access to your network. No method is impenetrable, which is why data breach insurance is also important. Often times a carrier will require you to have many of the previously mentioned controls in place in order to obtain coverage. Rates will vary from carrier to carrier and often depend on number of patient files and/or revenues.
