still can adequately treat their patients. We gave support to and aided in the passage of the Missouri Dental Board’s opioid language, which leaves the decision to the professional judgement of the dentist.


Remember how fabulous we are one-on- one with our patients? That needs to be our mantra with our advocacy strategy—both in asking other members to get involved and in making connections with legislators. It took that personal touch for me to get started being an advocate. If you care enough about an issue to get up and do something about it, people take notice and a buzz is created around the issue.


I want to thank the MDA members for al- lowing me to serve as your LRC Chair. I have strived to do my best, to voice your concerns and keep the MDA’s goals and mission the driving force of the LRC. Thank you to all of those who gave through your MODentPAC contributions, attended fundraisers, par- ticipated in Legislative Day, reached out to make calls at critical times, and for all your support of your MDA staff and legislative team.
