Everyone that plans parties also knows that something can easily go wrong…guests can over-indulge, the champagne cork can pop into someone’s eye…these are all unplanned and unwanted circumstances that a great party host will want to know how to deal with. The only obvious difference is that, unlike a party that starts at 7 and ends at midnight, running an association is a 24/7/365 party.

Knowing what food and drink to serve, and more, how much to have on-hand…Where will people sit? Which guests have food allergies? What if people want to dance? If it’s raining, where can we move the party to? Thinking ahead to anticipate what will make your guests happiest and most comfortable at your party is just like property managers planning and anticipating the association and residents’ needs.
Planning solutions for problems that are rare can be difficult to get onto the property manager radar. It’s simply a matter of having the time needed to gets plans in place. But when that unlikely problem carries a heavy consequence like throwing association operations off for weeks or more, it becomes clear that a little upfront planning would make it a worthwhile investment of time.
The planning can be as simple as pre-selecting a restoration vendor. Even this step alone will speed response to any disastrous event that hits one of your buildings. Or preparedness can get more thorough with an emergency response plan, where the restoration vendor already has your key contact information and facts about the building that will make mitigation that much faster by cutting out the time needed to gather all of this upon arriving.
